I see these delectable pictures, my mouth waters, and I suddenly think I'm channeling Julia Child! So I will admit the first time I ever tried to make homemade tomato sauce, from tomatoes in my garden, it was nothing short of an EPIC disaster!
The pictures and recipes made it look SO easy. I thought I could just throw some cut up tomatoes in my crock pot with some veggies and seasoning and within a few hours Voila, I would have thick and delicious sauce to rival an old Italian grandma.
Ohhh I was sadly mistaken.
Instead I got a watery red mess that my husband touted was one of the worst things I ever made. I know that seems harsh, but he was 100% correct. I was so bummed I vowed to never make sauce from scratch again!
|I failed these beauties.|
Then I was happily pinning on Pinterest the other day when I was bombarded with a flurry of spaghetti sauce recipes. It was like the Universe was whispering to me, "Make the sauce. Make the sauce."
Who the hell am I to argue with the flippin Universe??
So I found a simple recipe that only takes THREE STEPS to create the most tasty (non-watery) tomato sauce I've ever had. I promise people will think you have a small olive-skinned Italian woman chained in your kitchen, slaving away over a giant pot, once they taste THIS sauce.
